Saigontourist Aims To Attract 1 Million Visitors In 2018
In 2017, Saigontourist Travel Service Company welcomed 870,000 tourists, receiving 4,250 billion in revenue, increased by 10% compared to last year. The enterprise is expecting 1 million tourists coming to Vietnam in 2018.
This year, international tourists especially those who are coming from cruise ships occupy nearly 50% of Saigontourist’s visitors. This group of customers also saw a 30% rise in growth rate compared to 2016. The company has welcomed 210 cruise ships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue and Ha Long serving more than 400,000 visitors and crew members, raised by 30% compared to the same period last year.
In addition, MICE services (corporate events, incentives, conferences) for corporate clients also bring in revenue and more customers. This year, the company had 45,000 domestic and international MICE tourists, a 10% increase compared to 2016. Among them, there are hundreds of large-scale delegations up to thousands tourists.
According to Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Director of Marketing and Communications of Saigontourist Travel Service Company, in 2018, the company aims to attract 1 million visitors, with travel revenue increased by 15% compared to last year. The company will invest heavily in online sales to increase its competitiveness in the coming time.
“At present, the online segment is only growing in the Vietnamese market, and we will invest heavily in expanding our international market share and expect this segment to grow 30% next year.” Mrs. Tra said.
